The Health Puzzle
Welcome back to this week’s blog post!
We have mentioned previously that we at Peace of Health Chiropractic Wellness Clinic believe that chiropractic care is an integral part of your healthcare journey. But what are some of the other components to your health? As awesome as we believe chiropractic is, 10-15 minutes per week in your visits, cannot undo everything that happens in the other 10,065 minutes of your week. I’ll say again, the 0.15% of your week in your chiropractic visits, cannot compensate for the remaining time in your week. This is not to say that this is not a significant component to your movement optimization, but that it is not the end all, be all in attaining your optimal health.
At Peace of Health Chiropractic, you will often be asked about the quality of your sleep, how is your water intake, how you are dealing with life’s stresses. These factors, along with adequate nutrition, proper supplementation, and even sunlight exposure can improve your health outcomes in your journey to wellness. If these things are not properly and adequately addressed then, simply put, your health can never reach optimal levels.
Our bodies have the amazing ability to adapt to stresses and overcome less than optimal conditions as we inevitably get bumps and bruises along the way. An analogy that could be applied is your vehicle. Tire air pressure must be proper and balanced, brake fluid levels must be maintained, air filters, and the windows so you can see. If any of those are suboptimal your driving experience and/ or safety becomes compromised. So too with our bodies, that all pieces of the health puzzle must be present to reach optimal health and function.
We often take better care of our vehicles than we do our own bodies. Waiting until you are in pain is like waiting until your check engine light comes on to change the oil. We at Peace of Health Chiropractic Wellness Clinic do not want you to wait until your “check engine light” comes on when you are in pain. Firstly, because it is likely going to take longer for you to recover than had there been a maintenance plan in place which costs you time and money. Secondly, that downtime from any injury or movement disfunction prevents you from living your life to the fullest and doing the things you want to do most.
We want to help walk with you in your health and wellness journey. Join us weekly for more health and wellness tips and education as you journey together through life’s great challenges and experiences.
Yours in Health,
